Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the United States of America is an actress and singer. Bell is a Michigan native, born and raised by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). She was born in Michigan's Huntington Woods, to the family of a Polish mother and father who has a mix of German, English Irish, Scottish, and Irish. Kristen found her talent within the industry of entertainment when she was just a teenager. She won her role as Raggedy Ann in 1992 after attending her first audition. Bell, who was 13 when her mother signed as an agent was cast on TV and newspaper advertisements. She is now also taking individual acting classes. Bell played an uncredited part on Polish Wedding (1998), an upcoming film. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School and was in the band and the drama club. The Wizard of Oz was performed by her high school and she won the part as Dorothy. After graduating, Bell relocated to New York City to attend the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts, where she was a musical theater student. In 2001, Bell left university to perform the part as Becky on Tom Sawyer. The same year she appeared in Pootie Tang, but the scene where she appeared was cut. This meant that there is only a credit sequence. Bell made an appearance on Broadway for the first time in The Crucible, a revival which featured Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
